I got the feeling that we just flat out gave up - no 4th down tries late in the game, Painter looked like a zombie at times and his throws were way off. Not only did OSU think we couldn't move the ball on them, but I think Purdue started to believe it too!<BR/><BR/>I also think the officials missed some pass interference calls and definitely the rushing touchdown at the end (as even Herbstreit said, "His entire BODY is in the endzone!"). It probably wouldn't have mattered, as OSU was certainly the better team - but I don't like the fact that it seemed like Purdue accepted that fact early on in the game.<BR/><BR/>The defense did play an inspired game after the first quarter. I'm especially amazed at how they stopped the run against such a good O line. They played an entire game hard after losing the time of posession battle and held a dominant O-line in check. If the D keeps playing this way and Painter can avoid a flat out free fall it will still be an amazing year for Boilermaker football.Leisurenoreply@blogger.com
