He is not absorbing Hummel's minutes, when he is on the court he is giving one of our guards a break. With Hummel's absence, what we are seeing is Johnson being asked to carry the burden and play an extra 6 or 8 minutes a game then what he was before the injury. Given the nature of the BigTen, this will catch up to him and make him less effective down the stetch. Unless Green (and Calasan for that matter) can step-up up his game and be a solid inside presence (ie rebound the basketball) we dont need hummel to win games per say, but help save Johnson for the stretch run/tourneys...
